The Pandemonium: a short story.

THE PANDEMONIUM Standing at the doorway of our house, I knew the temperature was rather cold but my armpits were sweating continuously. My left hand was somewhere resting somewhere in my white jumper pocket. The other one was hanging at the other side squeezing itself.  I was trying to figure out how to avenge. That was the thought that came to my mind when we had just heard the news of my father’s death.  When the news struck my mother’s ears, she let go of the knife she was slicing okra with. She tried to control herself but to no avail. Okra was father’s favorite.  ‘Arna, the infidels, have killed him’ was the statement of the person who brought the sad news. I came out shortly after the man had left.  ‘Wallahi I must avenge,’ I soliloquized,  even though I knew father would not have wished me to avenge his death. I knew, too, that it was impossible to control myself against it. ‘Revenge has never pleased the soul and so I will never,’ my father once said. ‘Revenge never brings bac

Academia Promoted Pantami to the Rank of Professor: A REPLY TO DR NASIR MASIR.
By: TAMEEM GARGA.
Sahara Reporters has published an article on September 14, 2021 claiming that Professor Isa Ali Pantami does not fulfil the academic requirements for the award of professor. According to one Dr. Mansir – the author of the said article, claims to know what he does not know.
First of all, the author claims that he made a background check(s) on the popular scholar indexed citations websites such as Google Scholar and Research Gate, to see Pantami’s recent scholarly contributions on cyber security but found little or insufficient. According to Mansir, there are only 24 citations on Pantami on research Gate.
First of all, I challenge Dr. Mansir to bring forth any authoritative source that says one must have certain number of publications to appear on Research Gate as a prerequisite for professorship rank.
Even so, look at what ResearchGate says about Pantami:
Isa Ali Ibrahim is an internationally recognized researcher, academic, policymaker, regulatory expert & teacher. He has over 160 publications (some here on ResearchGate) his credit…..a recipient of over 120 awards locally and internationally.
Furthermore, a search on ResearchGate shows that Pantami has 24 research items, 8,847 and 24 citations. If not because of hypocrisy, why didn’t he (Mansir) mention these?
And when the same search was done on Dr. Masir on ResearchGate, it shows zero result. The wannabe Dr. does not exist anywhere on any search.
Again, you said “….for anybody to be promoted to the rank of professor, he/she needs at least ten years teaching and research experience in the university”. You used definite article (the) before the university. So which university? Is it supposed to be “a university” or “the university?” Still on this, where did you get such condition? – That one must spent ten years in academia. For the sake of argument, let accept this your intuitive conclusion, Pantami has spent more ten years of tutoring in university, both here and abroad.
Lastly, I really doubt if the author of the said article really assist. If you do, show yourself. Well, Sahara Reporters can go extra mile to lure their prey with their click bait articles.
Please, let Pantami be. He has a lot on the table
